A Gentle Check-In: Leaning Forward Together

Dear  Reader,

When I was much younger, in my second year of medical school, I recall trying to open our room window in the university hall. It was stuck, but I was determined; “surely, I must open this window”. When it would not budge, I resorted to pushing right at the glass. It opened, alright, but my arm went right through it. It cut my wrist – I still hold the scar. The pain was intense, but the window did open. Was it worth it? Maybe yes, maybe no. But one thing was certain, I would never try to open a window that way again.

Leaning forward, I ask you; “what is your glass barrier?” What is that thing you need to keep pushing against, especially when there is a better way to do so? Is it your health, your emotional wellbeing, or the balance in your life that keeps slipping away? Or maybe, that next level in your career growth. Where is your health sustaining you to get there?

So, how is your health? Not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually? I hope you are taking time to care for your whole wellbeing.

By now, or at least by the end of this quarter, I hope you have had your annual wellness check. If not, consider this your friendly reminder 🙂. Your health is not just about lab results, it is about how you feel inside and out. How does your body look on the inside. Do you know? Your emotional wellness, stress levels, and overall balance in life are just as important as any medical test. Can it guarantee that you can lean forward and break the glass?

On 8th March, we celebrated International Women’s Day. I want to take a moment to honor the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women everywhere. Whether you are nurturing others, managing work and family, or striving for personal growth, you deserve to thrive. My desire is to make this year one where we prioritise ourselves, especially. For the gentlemen we have in this community, we see you as well, for honouring the women in your lives this Women’s month.

I, a woman on a mission, have been away from here, but not absent. During this time, I have been deeply engaged in meaningful work that I am excited to share with you. I have been refining key programs designed to support your wellbeing and help you take intentional steps toward lasting health.

One of our greatest milestones has been launching the first-ever Wellness Mastery at 35+ Retreat, a dream I have held since we opened The Holistic Health Hub. It was a tremendous success, bringing together an incredible group of women committed to deep self-care, physical well-being, and sustainable health practices. Seeing the transformation, breakthroughs, and renewed energy among the participants was truly inspiring. I cannot wait to welcome even more women next January, for an even more profound experience. Do not dare to miss this one, if health and healthy living is a goal of yours.

✨ With the love I have for sharing information, Dr. Lillian’s Wellness Wednesdaywas launched to my LinkedIn community. It brings practical, easy-to-apply insights to support your holistic wellness. I believe that taking care of your health should not be complicated – that’s what we are promoting in Dr. Lillian’s Wellness Wednesday newsletter.

🚀 This too is as exciting – I got the profound honour of participating in a woman’s leadership program; The Lean Forward Modular Program. It was designed by The CEO-Summit, organised for women in leadership, to help them build sustainable habits, regain energy, and find balance in everyday life, while still thriving in top leadership. It is for those ready to move from surviving to thriving, while breaking through the different glass ceilings that exist in our paths. My glass ceiling is stepping beyond the safe space of the medical consultation to the world outside, sharing a message that I deeply believe and live by. That is holistic living and wellness.

With these, I am excited to reconnect and continue this wellness journey with you. I would love to hear from you; what has been on your mind when it comes to your health? What is one thing you would love to improve? We are in this together.

I challenge you, to keep leaning forward. Stronger, healthier, and thriving.

To your health and wellness,

Dr. Lillian Nabukeera  Kaliisa
